Junior Social Media Designer & Editor - Social.Lab Amsterdam

At Ogilvy Social.Lab we believe that capturing attention in today’s timeline is as important as performance marketing or nurturing brand desire. To join our Amsterdam Studio, we’re looking for a driven, talented, and multimedia-skilled designer. Here you'll work with likeminded people, pushing for creative solutions that nail the brief, excite our national & international clients and attract more of the same.

The ideal candidate shows a good sense of design principles, social expertise, motion graphics skills, and strong attention to detail. You’re able to interpret high-level direction and build on it. You’ll translate our clients’ brand language by designing and producing assets tailored for advertising, social campaigns, pitch decks and internal communication. You’ll need to balance when to move fast, and know when to focus on the details. You’re love to learn, unlearn, and relearn to keep up with today's ever evolving, noisy, hyper-connected world.

The Basics:

  • You are a driven designer and a proactive team-player with 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • You can pick up a brand’s visual guidelines and identity quickly and apply it as a lens across all the creative work you produce
  • You’re as confident designing static social posts or digital banners as you are transforming a landscape video into an engaging Instagram story
  • You’re resourceful and innovative in your creative thinking. Give you one 30 second brand video and you’ll cut and craft it into multiple dynamic pieces of cross-platform content
  • You are passionate about working with and learning from others and contributing as part of a team that includes art directors, copywriters, strategists and content managers
  • You have an open and adaptable mindset, pragmatic attitude and a hands-on mentality

The Essentials:

  • A visual portfolio that speaks volumes about your talent, skill and experience with social and digital content
  • Proficiency and experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects, Photoshop and Premiere Pro
  • A structured workflow – if another designer needs to jump into your working files, they’ll be good to go with no fuss
  • Awareness of social and digital formats and a passion for experimentation with new and evolving online platforms
  • Solid Keynote design skills
  • The ability to independently crack on with creative tasks, as well as the humility to put your hand up when support or collaboration is needed
  • A drive to continuously improve and optimize your creative, based on performance insights
  • Positive and constructive attitude. You handle tight deadlines and pressure without issue

Even better if you have:

  • Sound editing skills
  • Experience at or working with production agencies

What we offer

  • A position at one of the most creative and professional of network agencies.
  • The opportunity to work for A-brands, ensuring your work is highly visible.
  • Great learning experiences, client contact, high levels of responsibility and many opportunities to take the initiative.
  • Famous friday drinks, rooftop parties, ski- and boat trips.
