Art Director - Social.Lab Amsterdam

In Social.Lab we like fresh thinkers. We like people with new ideas and new ways of solving problems that aren’t your average tried and tested methods. We need an Art Director full of beans and bursting with new ideas. Someone who isn’t afraid to get hands-on and pitch in at all stages of the creative process. An approachable, inspiring senior creative who will play an integral role in coaching our junior creatives. Here you'll work with like minded people, pushing for creative solutions that nail the brief and excite our clients.

The Basics:

Responsibilities:

Working as an Art Director, you’ll be responsible for delivering an endless supply of fresh ideas for a wide range of briefs. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing campaign concepts and translating big ideas to social
  • Crafting dynamic content ideas across the purchase funnel
  • Working with our copywriter to craft tight write-ups of ideas that get stakeholders sold in
  • Sketching content ideas and putting together clear storyboards
  • Presenting to stakeholders, taking them on the creative journey with you and backing up your ideas with strong creative rationales
  • Working with external creative and production agencies on 360 projects
  • Capturing social content on high-energy integrated shoots, safeguarding and defending your creative choices
  • Creating video and still assets for social and other digital platforms
  • Coaching junior creatives, helping them to develop their design and conceptual skills
  • Proactively sharing creative projects from the wider industry and beyond that serve as inspiration for the creative department and wider business

 

The Essentials:

The ideal candidate must have:

  • 4 - 6 years of experience in our industry
  • An education/background that demonstrates a passion for creativity
  • A portfolio that demonstrates creative thinking, full of innovative and standout ideas
  • A thorough understanding of (and love for) social media, and the main features, benefits and limitations of all of the major social platforms
  • Experience presenting to stakeholders and handling stakeholder feedback
  • An understanding and appreciation for the role of performance data in crafting and optimizing creative
  • A demonstrable understanding of all the stages involved in the creative process
  • Thorough knowledge of and experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • An interest in applying and expanding your creative skills to digital channels outside of social
  • Excellent time management skills and experience working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • An energetic, accommodating and vocal team player with a can-do attitude and a positive personality
